Homer harbor staff finished a 40-hour Emergency Trauma Technician course to stabilize patients during the 10 to 15 minutes it can take for an ambulance to reach the end of the Spit.

Homer marks five years since Jan. 6 attack with downtown gathering
About 30 people gathered at WKFL Park to mark the anniversary of the U.S. Capitol attack, followed by a public discussion at the Homer Public Library about democracy and future elections.
Mariner Theater closed after equipment falls from rigging
Homer High School officials closed the Mariner Theater after acoustic shells fell from the rigging onto the stage. A professional inspection is scheduled for later this month to determine when the venue can safely reopen.

Homer's Maynard Smith directs Incident at Vichy at the Porcupine Theater
Homer’s Maynard Smith is directing a one act play by American playwright, Arthur Miller, Incident at Vichy, that will be performed on the Porcupine Theater stage on January 20th and 21st. Director Smith met with KBBI to provide some details on the content of the play.

Kachemak Nordic Ski annual Junior Nordic Program begins this weekend
Homer’s Kachemak Nordic Ski Club annual Junior Nordic ski program will begin on the last Saturday in January and the registration deadline is coming up this weekend. KBBI’s Emilie Springer talked with board member Anna McCarthy and ski instructor Emily Lints in the station earlier this week.

Homer Airport Terminal partially reopens following flood
