Community Calendar

On behalf of the Kachemak Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (KBNERR) Community Council, this is an invitation to the public to attend the next community council meeting scheduled for March 27th, 2026 from 12:30pm-3pm at the UAA Kachemak Bay Campus in room 202.
The primary purpose of the KBNERR Community Council is to support the Reserve’s research, education and training programs by providing an organized structure for dialogue and recommendations between staff and community members interested in natural science research and education. This is an open playgroup for parents/guardians to bring their young ones* to a great big open space and let them run around and play. Bring your own toys or play with what SPARC has provided (no pedal bikes w/ brakes allowed at this time, only strider bikes & scooters). This class is available Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays from 10-11:30am (unless a special event interferes). Cost is $4.00 per child.
* This means toddlers not in kindergarten, or not of school-age yet (~5 yrs. old & younger) -- older siblings are allowed but need to be careful of the littles!

***Please bring a pair of clean indoor shoes for you & your child to change into (in the entryway). Thank you for helping to keep our new floor looking good!***

Futsal is an exciting, fast paced, FIFA recognized indoor soccer game played on a hard surface. Teams are comprised of 5 players (4-field+keeper). Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students (14+)/military/veterans/seniors 62+.

This class is on Wednesdays & Sundays from 6:45-8:45pm and Fridays from 6-8pm.

South Peninsula Hospital is sponsoring open walks again this year! All are welcome to these open walks (strollers, elders, walking sticks, wheel chairs, ect.). No sign up is required. Some Mondays we will also offer health education opportunities such flu shots, blood pressure checks, surveys, and more.

Join the Widow and Widower Support Group every Tuesday in our sunroom.

Join us every Wednesday for our Grief and Loss Support Group in the Hospice of Homer sunroom.

Seward's He Will Provide Food Pantry is open every Thursday from 3pm to 6pm. He Will Provide is located at 238 5th Ave in the basement of the City Annex building. The entrance is in the back. This is an emergency assistance food pantry.
He Will Provide will be open Tuesday, November 21^st from 3 to 6. He Will Provide will not be open on Thursday the 23^rd. Happy Thanksgiving!
