Crews begin work on $3.7 million Kachemak Drive road project
Crews in Homer started work this week on a nearly $3.7 million pavement preservation project on Kachemak Drive.
Homer Senior Center raises prices for meals and housing
Homer Senior Center residents will pay more for meals and housing to help the facility address a budget deficit and back taxes. The board approved a $200 increase for monthly meal plans and a $50 rent hike for all units.
Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly rejects calls for increased school funding
The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly voted against a resolution Tuesday that would have asked state lawmakers to increase the Base Student Allocation by $630. Assembly members also rejected a proposal to raise the borough's sales tax cap to help fund local schools.
Homer City Council honors retiring police lieutenant

Homer Little League celebrates 50 years
With the start of summer, Homer Little League held an opening day celebration and a mini-tournament game schedule. 2026 is also the 50th anniversary for the organization. Emilie Springer spoke with board president Shelby Hagen more seasonal league details and former volunteers with the organization to share what it has contributed to the community of Homer.
