Funding for Alaska’s schools is always in flux, questions of budget cuts and school consolidation are never off the table, even for the state’s biggest districts; and former Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor Mike Navarre will return to his role, temporarily, while the borough readies for a special election to fill the now-vacant seat.
