Call for Performance: 2025 Nutcracker Faire

HCOA is seeking performers to entertain shoppers at the 2025 Nutcracker Faire. If you are a solo musician, ensemble, or other type of performer and are interested in performing in the Homer High School Commons stage during the Nutcracker Faire, please fill out a submission form below.

Some things to know about this call for performance:

The Nutcracker Faire is on Saturday, December 6th from 11 am -7:30 pm and Sunday, December 7th from 12pm-5pm
Performers will be given one hour time spots.
This is a family friendly event, so all performances must be clean and suitable for children.
Submission form closes on Saturday, December 1st

Come play soccer, shoot hoops, toss a ball, ride a scooter, play ping pong, or bring a (clean) scooter or strider bike to ride around on, and just be active! This is your time to do what you’d like in an open environment. This class is $4.00 pp and is open to all ages (unaccompanied minors must be at least in 3rd grade w/ parents' permission & signing of SPARC waiver).

Sorry, NO roller skates, skateboards, or pedal bikes w/ brakes are allowed at this time.

When hunger weighs heavily, it’s hard to focus, hard to thrive, and hard to stay well. At the Anchor Point Food Pantry, we meet that need with empathy, respect, and cheerful hearts—because no one should have to face hunger alone. We provide a weekly food line and meals, monthly TEFAP commodities, holiday food boxes, summer produce, hungry kids' weekend meal packs and a kids' summer lunch bag program.

Learn practical job skills for becoming a deckhand on any vessel in one weekend at Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer. Deckhand Skills runs November 7 through 9 and includes safety & survival skills, line handling, knots, gear orientation, basic navigation, crew roles, helm, wheelhouse expectations, and more. The cost is $150 and scholarships are available through the Homer Marine Trades Association for qualifying individuals. We are so excited to have Katie Jo at the SPARC teaching a Zumba class Mondays from 5:30-6:30pm. This class is available to adults & high schoolers (14+) for $7.00 ($4 for SPARC & $3 for instructor).

Zumba is a workout that mixes low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a lot of fun.

Join us for a free educational presentation with Dr. Giulia Tortora from Homer Medical Center, local estate planning attorney Lindsay Wolter, and Hospice of Homer Death Doula Morgan Laffert. These amazing professionals will cover living wills, medical power of attorney, legal and medical decisions, and emotional considerations for end-of-life planning.

Registration is open NOW for all skating programs at the Kevin Bell Arena.
We have programs for all -- from toddlers to adults, youth hockey teams, learn to skate, men's/women's, figure skating, curling and broomball.

This is an open time to come walk or run indoors and not have to worry about the snowy/icy conditions outside. We will have background music playing over the speakers. Come get your stroll on!

Open to adults & teens (12+) Mon-Fri from 8:30-9:30am and Mon-Fri from 11:45am-12:45pm. Cost is $4.00 per session. (It is also okay to bring a child in a stroller to walk)

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a ball over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports: the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis, with several modifications. Pickleball was invented in the mid 1960s as a children's backyard game.
