Homer’s first baby of the year was born Wednesday night at South Peninsula Hospital; charter operators in the Gulf of Alaska will soon be able to buy halibut quota from willing commercial fishermen; and Alaska’s job market will continue on a path of recovery this year, though it’s still a long way from where it was before the pandemic.
