We are so excited to have Maria SantaLucia back at the SPARC, teaching a beginner Zumba class on a NEW DAY, Monday's from 1:45-2:45pm. This class is available for adults & high schoolers (14+) for $6 ($3 for SPARC & $3 for Instructor).
Have fun dancing to a variety of music with strong Latin influences. This is a BASIC BEGINNER level class, great for seniors, and anyone wanting to enjoy movement with a low impact emphasis. This class is 45-60 minutes of movement that will be strengthen the cardiovascular system and help with muscles and mood.
***Please bring clean comfortable indoor shoes, water, and your smiles.***

There are two workshops happening Saturday, May 4th from 2-5 pm and Sunday, May 5th from 1-4pm in the HCOA Basement
All materials will be provided and you will walk out with your own handcrafted enamel earrings!
Open to participants age 16+
No experience needed. All skill levels welcome.

Learn about the origins of Darjeeling and the differences in flavor and color different harvesting seasons bring, while tasting two different flushes of Darjeeling.
Tea will be accompanied by savory and sweet treats, and a dessert silent auction.

Calling all boaters! Join the US Coast Guard and Kenai Peninsula College for a free Maritime Safety and Education Open House on May 1st from 2 to 6 pm at Kachemak Bay Campus! Ask questions of local Coast Guard Marine Safety Representatives, explore hands-on exhibits by local experts, learn about licensing and reporting requirements, and how to get training to stay safe on the water whether you are new to boating, a commercial boater, or a recreational boater. Heidi's Booty Camp is a fabulous introductory workout class available to all ages & sizes! It will be based on basic form and functional movements that will progress into HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) using body weight and minimal equipment. Participants will work at their own pace and level. Led by instructor Heidi Cox. Cost of class is $3 and is scheduled for Tues. & Thurs. from 5:30-6:30pm.
Kids are allowed to come during this class but PLEASE bring your own toys & NO balls or wheeled equipment/toys allowed (for safety reasons).

Zumba is a workout that mixes low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a lots of fun.
