A FREE offering from the KBFPC Teen Health team! Once a week Life Lab after school for 5th & 6th grade empowers students with information about their changing bodies. Utilizing the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District-approved curriculum “The Great Body Shop” students will participate in activities, art projects, and discussions about puberty, emotions, and more! Join HoWL to help clean up Homer! DiRtBaG Clean-Up Week is a litter clean-up for youth and families, and youth participants can earn scholarships for HoWL wilderness programs, complete service hours, and win prizes and special awards for categories such as Most Trash, Dirtiest DiRtBaG or Microtrash Master. To participate, meet us at Bishops Beach on Monday-Friday from 3:30 to 5:30, or from 4:15-5:30. On Saturday, April 25, we will meet from 11-2 to pick up trash at Bishop's Beach, and celebrate everyone's hard work with a pizza party, prizes and awards. Youth can participate with family members or can attend by themselves and join a HoWL-supervised crew. Join a panel of local medical providers for an informative and medically grounded conversation about infertility. This session will explore common causes of infertility, current treatment options, and address myths and misinformation frequently circulating in social media and popular culture. Presented in a conversation-style format, the discussion will be moderated to encourage dialogue among speakers and include time for audience questions. Resources for attendees will be provided, offering reliable information and next steps for those seeking support or clarity around fertility concerns.
After, we’ll have an hour of tai chi led by Rowan Mulvey. Rowan has led groups of people in motion for over 25 years here in Homer, including Dance, Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, physical training, senior and aquatic exercise. Tai Chi helps us develop and strengthen our mindfulness and movement awareness and capabilities. The practice meets each one of us wherever we are at each day, each breath, each moment.

We're excited to be able to bring our Ping Pong / Table Tennis class back to SPARC on Wednesdays from 5:45-6:45pm. Open to adults & kids (8 yo & up w/ parents' permission & signing of SPARC waiver) and the cost is $4. We currently have 2 tables available.

Bingo hosted by the Homer Emblem Club #350. Must be 19 years old to play by Alaska State law.
We play 10 bingo games and give out door prizes.There are hot dogs, soda and chips available for purchase.
Futsal is an exciting, fast paced, FIFA recognized indoor soccer game played on a hard surface. Teams are comprised of 5 players (4-field+keeper).
This class is on Wednesdays & Sundays from 6:45-8:45pm and Fridays from 6-8pm

The City of Homer is accepting public comment on the draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) for the Homer Education and Recreation Complex (HERC). The ABCA evaluates five cleanup alternatives for the HERC property to remediate Hazardous Building Materials and support future redevelopment of this brownfield property.For additional information and to comment go to the City's website: https://www.cityofhomer-ak.gov/.
