New federal plan includes possible Cook Inlet oil and gas sale
There won’t be an oil and gas lease sale in Cook Inlet this year, or the year after that. An Obama-era proposal to hold a sale in the inlet was canceled this May due to a cited lack of industry interest. But the Biden Administration may offer another sale down the line.

Afrofuturist comic artist David Brame dives into surrealism in exhibit at the Bunnell, open through March
“Dusty Funk" or "the Funkiverse” is a world of comic arts storytelling, surrealism and metaphorical space created by the artist known as the Amazing David Brame. He’s an Afro-futurist, educator and mixed media comic artist based on the Kenai Peninsula, and his exhibit is up now at the Bunnell Street Arts Center in Homer for the month of March.

Hundreds in Homer march for continued access to abortion
Alaskans marched in four cities across the state Saturday to advocate for reproductive rights.The rallies came after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in late June overturning the landmark case Roe v. Wade and ending the constitutional right to an abortion.In Homer, the afternoon march drew about 400 people and many had the same message: Abortion is health care.
