Homer City Council Candidate Forum

Shahla Farzan/KBBI

Candidates for Homer City Council sat down Thurs. night at Land’s End for a forum sponsored by the Homer Chamber of Commerce. Five candidates are running for three seats on the council. Three of them are vying for two seats with three-year terms, and two men, both incumbents, are seeking a single seat with a one-year term.

The three candidates who are running at-large for the pair of three-year terms are incumbent Councilwoman Donna Aderhold, former Councilwoman Shelly Erickson, and Adam Hykes.

The two candidates seeking to fill out the unexpired last year of former Councilman Joey Evenson’s term are Councilman Jason Davis, who was appointed to that seat last month, and two-term Councilman Heath Smith, who chose not to seek re-election to a three-year term.
