This is a fabulous introductory workout class available to all ages & sizes! It will be based on basic form and functional movements that will progress into HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) using body weight and minimal equipment. Participants will work at their own pace and level. Led by instructor Heidi Cox. Cost of this class is $4.00 and is scheduled for Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30-6:30pm. *Kids wanting to participate in the class are free!*
(Note from Heidi about bringing Children and Safety: The exercise equipment is available to use for ADULTS ONLY (and older children who are participating in the workout with their parents). You may bring small children, but they may NOT play with the mats, bands, etc. for their safety. Kiddos running between the active participants is NOT allowed for both the safety of the adult and child. All toys MUST be kept in front of the floor in the green space. My goal for Booty Camp is to give all exercising participants, including kiddos, a fun and safe place to get healthy activity. SAFETY IS TOP PRIORITY!)
***Please bring a pair of clean indoor shoes for you & your child to change into (in the entryway). Thank you for helping to keep our new floor looking good!***
Learn the Mariners' art of scrimshaw with naturalist and artist Conrad Field. The class, which starts January 12, meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm for 4 & 1/2 weeks at Kachemak Bay Campus. The fee is $150, which includes supplies. The curriculum will guide students through carving techniques on a variety of materials, ending with a mounted piece of art on bone or antler. This could be the perfect holiday gift for someone on your list. For more information or to register, call (907) 235-1674 or visit kpc.alaska.edu/communitycourses.
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a ball over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports: the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis, with several modifications. Pickleball was invented in the mid 1960s as a children's backyard game. ***ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!*** Price of class is $6 for adults and $4 for youth 12+/students/military/veterans/seniors 62+.
Classes are available for adults and teens (12+) on Tues/Thurs/Fri from 9:30-11:30am, Thursdays from 6:45-8:45pm, & Sundays from 10am-1pm. There is also a "Saturday Night Challenge" class on Saturdays from 5-8pm.

Join artist Karyn Murphy at Kachemak Bay Campus to explore 10 deceptively simple book arts projects. Many of these begin with one sheet of paper that is transformed into a multi-faceted structure, which could be the basis for an artist's book. Students will leave class with a portfolio of works they create, and the final project will be a folding matchbox book. This class meets Saturday, November 22, 10 am to 4 pm with a break for lunch. Students should bring scissors. The instructor will provide papers and supplies to complete the projects.
