Multiple thefts occurred in the Anchor Point and Homer area in late December and early January. According to an Alaska State Troopers dispatch posted Sunday, an Anchor Point residence on Heddell Street was burglarized late Dec. 29 or in the early morning hours of Dec. 30.
On Jan. 1, troopers say a car was also stolen from an Anchor Point residence.
Kristina Owens’ 1995 Subaru wagon was stolen from Dorothy Drive. Troopers say the vehicle was found crashed on the Sterling Highway a few days later.
Troopers spokesperson Megan Peters says it isn’t known if the two crimes are related. Troopers haven’t charged anyone in either case and both investigations are ongoing.
A Homer resident also reported a stolen pistol from her home. Christine Effler made the report while troopers were investigating a disturbance at her home on Seaside Farm Drive on Jan. 2. According to a trooper dispatch, the pistol was last seen in the residence two weeks prior.
