Homer Public Library under new leadership

City of Homer

The Homer Public Library has a new director. David Berry will be replacing retiring director Ann Dixon on May 1.

According to a press release from the City of Homer, Berry spent the past three years working at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

Berry is the former director of Taft College Library in Taft, California and holds a Master of Library and Information Studies degree.

City manager Katie Koester said that Berry’s passion for libraries makes him a great fit for the position. Koester also applauded Dixon's contributions to the library, saying she helped make it into the vibrant community center it is today.

Dixon will be leaving after almost eight years as the library's director. There will be a reception for Dixon and Berry on April 30 at the library.
