The Kenai Peninsula is under high fire danger. Poor snow and rainfalls have left the area dry and at risk. Plus a low pressure storm system in the Gulf of Alaska is sending high winds up to the Kenai. The State Division of Forestry is suspending people’s burn permits to reduce the threat. Howie Kent, a Fire Management Officer with the Division of Forestry spoke to KBBI’s Quinton Chandler about fire danger and necessary precautions.
