Bunnell Street Arts Center announces a call for applications to Bunnell’s Visual Arts Exhibit 2027-2028 season. The application period runs from September 1 – October 31, 2025. Apply at www.callforentry.org
VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITS:

A community tradition established in 1991, Bunnell Street Arts Center’s Visual Arts Exhibit program demonstrates over 30 years of innovation, experimentation and excellence. Exhibits nurture and promote Alaska artists with opportunities for professional development, networking and creative exchange. Applications are open to Alaska artists and curators working in any media.
Formats may include solo exhibits, group exhibits, interdisciplinary shows, and shows curated by Alaska artists, curators, and culture bearers.
Application is for exhibits to be scheduled 2027 – 2028.

Work need not be for sale.
There is a $25 application fee. (Needs-based waivers are available).

The fund supports Artist-led, risk-taking, public-facing projects that inspire curiosity, engagement, dialogue and respect for cultural integrity. The Regional Regranting Program from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts partners with local arts organizations around the country to make grants to artists and collectives for projects that chart new creative territory in their communities. Bunnell Street Arts Center became a Regional Regranting Partner in 2025. Each partner in the network creates its own program tailored to the specific needs and artistic identity of its region. Established in 2007, the Regional Regranting Program is now in 39 cities and regions and supports artists whose work falls outside the scope of traditional presenting organizations and/or funding opportunities. Projects supported by these grants have included queer zines, living room galleries, radical seafaring events, reimagination of customary artwork, virtual reality film screenings, among other public-facing experimental activities.

The Ursa Major Fund administered by Bunnell Street Arts Center supports the independent, self-organized work of artists, small groups and collaborators playing a crucial role within Alaska’s cultural ecosystem. Grants allow artists to create art work that engages their communities and experiments with new possibilities.

Bunnell Street Arts Center will award a total of $60,000 via fifteen grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 to Alaska artists. Applications open September 1 and close October 31. Applications will be adjudicated by a panel of jurors primarily from outside of Alaska. Awards will be made and announced in early 2026.

The Ursa Major Fund is a Regional Regranting Program created and funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and administered by Bunnell Street Arts Center.

Artists are invited to participate in Bunnell Street Arts Center’s annual 10 x 10 Member’s Exhibit. This exhibit opportunity is open to all Bunnell members— join or renew today! Artwork & registration due by October 31st at 5pm.

With generous support from Homer Art and Frame, there will be a limited number of 10 x 10” wooden panels available for participating members, available at the gallery after September 10th. The theme is open and artist members are encouraged to participate in this annual exhibit opportunity!

Requirements:

Artwork can be any medium, but it must be 10 inches in any direction.
Artwork must be ready to hang and be labeled with artist’s name and title.
Participating artists must be current members of Bunnell Street Arts Center.
Members may submit up to three works priced at $100/$200/$300/$400/$500.
Artwork does not have to be for sale.
Wooden 10 x 10” panels are available at Bunnell, while supplies last. (available after 9/10)
Artwork must be registered online by Friday October 31st.
Artwork due to Bunnell by 5pm on Friday, October 31st.
Work may be mailed to: Bunnell Street Arts Center, 106 West Bunnell Ave, STE A., Homer, AK 99603.
Artists are responsible for picking up or paying for return shipping for work that does not sell.
