USPS - Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive for Local Pantries
STAMP OUT HUNGER IS SET FOR SATURDAY MAY 9 TH
“Stamp out Hunger”, the annual drive that allows Postal Service employees to collect
food donations for their communities, will be held Saturday, May 9 th .
The National Association of Letter Carriers leads the one-day event, with help from
USPS and other organizations. Letter carriers are in the communities they serve every
day and often come face to face with a sad reality for far too many, hunger.
Since it’s launch in 1993, Stamp Out Hunger has grown into the nation’s largest one-
day food drive.
The food drive is timed for the second Saturday in May each year because late spring
can be a crunch time for pantries. Donations from our area will go to the Homer
Community Food Pantry and the Anchor Point Food Pantry.
There are two ways you can participate in this years Food Drive:
Leave a bag with healthful, non-perishable food items by your mailbox on
Saturday May 9 th and your letter carrier will pick it up.
Drop your food donation off anytime during the week of May 6 – 9 th in the lobby at
either the Homer or Anchor Point Post Office
