Kenai Local Food Connection's Harvest Moon Festival

Kenai Local Food Connection's Harvest Moon Festival

Harvest Moon Local Food Festival
10 am - 5 pm, Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022
Soldotna Creek Park

The Harvest Moon Local Food Festival is the Kenai Peninsula’s biggest one-day farmers market and local food celebration. Hosted by Kenai Local Food Connection, the festival spotlights local Alaskans who grow, harvest and produce a wide variety of Alaska Grown and Made in Alaska food and wellness products. This event is free for the whole family and includes fun activities for kids and grownups alike. We have live music, cooking demonstrations, educational talks, food trucks, the popular Fermentation Station, wild edibles walks, and a pie baking contest hosted by the local chapter of the Alaska Farm Bureau.

Local farmers will showcase the Kenai Peninsula’s abundance of beautiful vegetables and fruits. Local food entrepreneurs will be bringing their latest batches of pickles, kimchi, sauerkraut, salsa, relish, hot sauce, and jam. There will be locally baked bread and sweet treats, locally roasted coffee, honey from hard-working local bees and so much more.

Locally grown herbs and flowers and wild-harvested ingredients will also be featured in personal care products from several vendors. Food trucks present will be using local produce and Alaska-harvested ingredients such as reindeer and salmon. Local musicians will be performing on the stage, and Jim Kerr, aka Man of Gravity, will share his juggling talents again.

The goal of the festival is to promote food security in the central Kenai Peninsula area; give consumers an opportunity to enjoy fresh, local foods; give producers an opportunity to reach a large market at the end of the growing season; and promote community health and wellness socially as well as physically.
