Homer, AK – Bunnell Arts by Air presents folk / fusion violinist Chris Murphy at Bunnell and broadcast live on KBBI AM 890 Friday, May 16, 2025 at 7pm. Join our live studio audience! In-person audiences must be seated at 6:45pm.

A wily, charismatic performer and violin virtuoso, Chris Murphy fuses styles and techniques from across the globe. Whether it’s through creating noir-ish atmospheres, joyfully bent traditional folk tunes, or belly-up to-the-bar blues, Murphy fits more into a short set than most players do in an entire tour. Murphy has performed in 40 U.S. states as well as Ireland and England. He has lived, worked and studied in New York City, Boston and Seattle, as well as his current home city, Los Angeles.

Beginning as a Covid-relief program in 2020 to support musicians and community at a time when concerts and gatherings were not possible, Bunnell Arts by Air features Alaska and visiting musicians, and is partially funded by the Alaska State Council on the Arts Community Arts Development grant and a TourWest grant from Creative West (formerly WESTAF – Western States Arts Federation).
