This is Ingrid with Friends of Kachemak Bay State Parkswith this week's trail report for Wednesday, June 3rd.
Snowline conditions are at approximately a thousand feet.
Snow shoes and or skis are recommended for travel above 1000 to 1200 feet.
The following trails are clear and hikable:
Estuary Trail, Saddle Trail and Glacier Lake Trail, Grewingk Tram Spur Trail.
Please be bear aware. Bears are becoming more active.
The following trails are clear and passable with some brush and steep grades:
The China Poot Lake Trail. Please see announcements concerning flooding around the outhouse.
The Coalition Trail Diamond Creek Trail is passable, but please park at the top of the road during breakup. Tutka Hatchery Spur Trail, the Jakalof to Tutka Trail and the Tutka Lake Trail are all passable.
The remainder of the trails are difficult to impassable. This includes:
Alpine Ridge trail and the Blue Ice Trail. Coalition Loop Trail is impassable to the falls.
Please do not hike to the falls. Emerald Lake Loop Trail is not recommended to hike.
Goat Rope and Grace Ridge trails have snow above a thousand feet.
Lagoon Trail has no bridge across Halibut Creek, so please fjord at your own risk.
Mallard Bay and Mallard/Emerald connector trails are impassible.
Moose Valley Trail, and Poot Peak trails - North, South, and Summit are difficult to impassable.
Please do not hike from Moose Valley to Summit. Sadie Knob Trail is difficult and Tutka Backdoor Sentinel Ridge, and Wosnesenski River Trail are not recommended to hike.
