Project Homeless Connect: Transport schedule and donation information

South Peninsula Hospital

With temperatures forecast to fall below zero this weekend, give a thought to adults, teens and children in the Homer area who sleep outside, or in their vehicles, or anywhere they can find.

Project Homeless Connect is happening at Homer United Methodist Church next Wednesday, January 29. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with hot lunch served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m

It’s a gathering of providers of health care, education, housing, employment, legal advice. They’ll be providing flu shots, haircuts, laundry and shower vouchers and winter gear, addiction counseling and food to go and much more.

Getting folks who need services to the providers is always an issue so Project Homeless Connect is providing shuttle services to and from Homer United Methodist Church all day and on-site child care all day, Wednesday.

If you’d like to donate winter gear, sub-zero sleeping bags, hats or boots or if you can donate money to help pay for transportation of people or purchasing of items call 399-3158 for information.
