Mike Illg, recreation manager for the city of Homer, Chris Perk, Homer High School’s athletic director and Holly Van Pelt, an avid pickleball player discussed trends in recreation, how sports impact our community and challenges to getting more people involved. Guests also spoke about the role sports play for kids and how Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s proposed budget could affect school sports.
