Daisy Kettle is South Peninsula Haven House's 2020 Young Woman of Distinction
For decades, South Peninsula Haven House has organized a dinner and auction that has become an important fundraiser for the organization.
Their Women of Distinction event honors people who contribute to the community and it rallies local support for South Peninsula Haven House,
a shelter for people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse in Homer.
The event usually takes place in March, but March was not a good time to be gathering in public and sharing a meal this year, so the event was postponed. Organizers chose October in order to highlight Domestic Violence Awareness month. The online Women of Distinction will take place on October 23.
KBBI will feature this year’s honorees in advance of the online ceremony
First: the Young Woman of Distinction.
