The recall petitions for three Homer City Council members have been filed.
According to a notice from City Clerk Jo Johnson, petitioners handed them in Friday afternoon.
Johnson said this now starts a 10-day period in which the clerk must certify whether or not the petitions are sufficient to start the recall process.
If the petitions are found to be complete and sufficient, the process of planning a full recall election will begin.
The three council members facing possible recall are David Lewis, Catriona Reynolds, and Donna Aderhold.
The petitions were initiated after community members expressed concerns about their involvement in two controversial resolutions on the Dakota Access Pipeline and inclusivity in Homer.
