Journalist and author Laura Coffey will give a talk on her book, My Old Dog, Rescued Pets with Remarkable Second Acts on Thursday evening at the Homer Public Library. The book features senior rescue dogs and the people whose lives they’ve changed. The book makes the case that older dogs, which often languish in shelters, make great companions. KBBI News Director Daysha Eaton talks with Laura Coffey.
Coffey is no stranger to Homer –she met her husband while working at the Icicle Seafoods Plant that used to be on the Homer Spit and then worked at the Peninsula Clarion Newspaper as a reporter.
Catch Coffey’s talk and book signing in partnership with Homer Animal Friends, the Homer Book Store and Friends of the Homer Library, at the Homer Public Library Thursday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m.
