Rain or shine, the Class of 2021 graduates tonight. Homer Flex School will celebrate 5 seniors tonight on the Quarterdeck at Land's End Resort and the Mariner football field, 86 seniors will turn their tassels.

Only pre-registered guests can attend in person. Homer High Principal Doug Waclawski says at Homer High, the turf is ready for the choir the band, and about 500 guests. Valedictorians Lawrence Dunn and Austin Cline will speak along with featured speaker, Physical Education teacher Sandra Hudson.

" In order to keep our mitigation plan and everybody safe, each senior is going to be able to have six guests. They'll be able to sit in pods with their family and they'll be spaced. Everybody is going to have to wear a mask. You have to be on the list in order to get in so there will be assigned seating," said Waclawski.

Homer High School's You Tube channel will have a livestream of the ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. and post a recording afterward. People who watch on the livestream will see something the in-person guests can't - the yearbook staff's photo slideshow as the Class of 2021 walks onto the turf.

After the ceremony at Homer High, Homer Police and Fire Departments will lead the seniors along Pioneer Avenue. Waclawski says he hopes the community will come out like last year and line the route to congratulate the graduates.

"Anywhere from 8:00 to 8:30 depending on how long the ceremony takes. Then, graduates will get in their car. They'll have them all decorated up and then, parade down Pioneer," Waclaski said.

Homer High School's  commencement ceremony will be livestreamed on the school's You Tube channel beginning at 7 p.m. KBBI congratulates the Class of 2021.
