Pier One Theatre Auditions - "For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday"

For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday
by Sarah Ruhl
Directed by Val Sheppard

Auditions for this show are at Homer Council on the Arts at 355 W. Pioneer Ave. in Homer, AK

"When Ann thinks of her father, she immediately remembers playing Peter Pan in her hometown theater in Iowa, particularly when he used to bring her flowers after every performance. Her memory is jogged by the fact that she and her four siblings are in their father's hospital room during his final moments. His death sparks a conversational wake that includes everything from arguments over politics to when each sibling realized that they grew up. A loving look at a family's view of death, life, and the allure of never growing up."

"For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday" is a deeply personal and affecting dramatic-comedy about the power of memory and the nostalgia we all feel as we continue to grow up, despite many of us wanting to remain in Neverland. This show has 6 characters (4m, 2f) between the ages of 50-84 and will be produced between June 15-25 at Pier One Theatre on the Homer Spit.
