Linda Fritz Author Talk at the Library
Author Talk with Linda Fritz on Tuesday, May 13, 6:00 - 7:00 pm at the Homer Public Library
Answering Alaska’s Call chronicles the extraordinary life of Milo ‘Doc’ Fritz. Alaska’s legendary “Flying Doctor.” Epic in sweep and intimate in tone, Milo’s story is intertwined with 20th-century medical and Alaska history—his life impacted by World War II, advances in aviation, the territory’s transition to statehood, the Good Friday Earthquake, the discovery of oil, and passage of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.
Join us at the library to meet editor, writer, and award-winning essayist Linda Fritz, who ventured to Alaska at age 16 to work as a nurse’s aide for her uncle—Doc Fritz.
Check out this book at the library or purchase your own copy during the event from the Homer Bookstore.
