KBC Announces the First Southcentral Growers Conference April 25 & 26 - FREE
Kachemak Bay Campus Growers School is excited to announce the inaugural Southcentral Growers Conference, Friday, April 25 from 4:30 to 8:30 pm and Saturday, April 26 from 9 am to 5:30 pm.
Keynote speaker, Sam Knapp will talk about "The How and Why of Winter Storage Crops in Alaska." Other topics include: farm accounting with Julia Shanks of the Farmer's Office; agritourism and farm stays with Fat Sheep Farm; a climate change round table; a tool demo with Emily Garrity of Twitter Creek Gardens; hot or cold composting with Kyra Wager, and more.
All events are in-person at Kachemak Bay Campus in Pioneer Hall and at the KBC High Tunnel. The Friday evening and Saturday morning presentations will be available on Zoom. The conference is free and no registration is required for the in-person sessions, but an RSVP would be appreciated.
