Kachemak Bay Recovery Connection will be hosting the third annual 5K Fun Walk/Run on August 30, 2025. All strollers, walkers, and runners are welcome. The race will begin at the Deep Water Dock on the Homer Spit. To reach the Deep Water Dock, head out on the Homer Spit, then turn left on Freight Dock Road, bear right, and go to the very end where the cruise ships dock. Walkers start at 10:30 a.m. and runners start at 11 a.m. Pre-register online at kbayrecovery.org before August 29th for a discounted rate. Registration will also be available at the Deep Water Dock on the day of the run from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m . This event is free to anyone that wants to join and cannot afford it – just show up! The community and run participants are encouraged to meet at 11:30 at the Deep Water Dock after the race for prizes, a social, snacks and music by Cody Burch.
