Jesse Egner and Nathan Hall, multidisciplinary artists create new work and invites collaboration from the Homer community. Join us to welcome them and listen to their artist talks at 6pm. Nathan Hall will create new music on Bunnell's piano and create a layered visual collage featuring music and sound-inspired drawings. He intends to create a sonic "portrait" of Homer: daily patterns of work, life, fishing, and weather, interpreted through music and hand-drawn musical scores, with hopes to also incorporate data from a collaboration with the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. Jesse Egner is a New York-based artist working primarily with photography and video. Often taking the form of playful and absurd portraiture of himself and other individuals, his work explores themes of queerness, disidentification, queer corporeality, and the uncanny. Egner was born in 1993 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He received his BA from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and his MFA from Parsons School of Design. Jesse will have half of the exhibit space; fellow resident artist, Nathan Hall, a composer and visual artist will build a simultaneous exhibition of his work, in the other half of the gallery.
