OPEN - Basket of Remembrance and Unburdening is the name for this year's Burning Basket. Build week is M-Sa Sept 1-6, noon-5, and is a community interactive impermanent art experience. Join in the building of a large intricately woven basket sculpture using natural materials, and circular walking path ground design. No experience necessary. The sculpture invites public participation on Sunday, Sept 7. At sundown on Sunday, Sept. 7 the basket is ignited and burned as a performance of fire-art to symbolically disperse our collective positive intentions. Drumming and firespining. This is a no alcohol, no dogs event, and it is free.
