Curated by Michael Walsh, FilmJam_25 is an evening of single-channel and multi-channel projection cinema, alongside performance, storytelling and music by some of Alaska’s most adventurous makers. Some of the artists include Kelly Moneymaker, Martha Colburn, Erin Pollok, Erin Hollowell, Carolyn Norton, Daniel Perry, Caressa Starshine, Mike Conti, Bruce Farnsworth and more.
Michael Walsh has been curating FilmJam in Homer since 2010. He has been making and curating moving image art for over 30 years. His work has screened at the SFMOMA, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Nam June Paik Center in S. Korea, and Anthology Film Archives, among others. He has an MFA in Film/Video, New Genres and Performance Art from the Peck School of the Arts at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Walsh works in digital video and celluloid film as well as painting and installation. Walsh is an Adjunct art instructor for the University of Alaska, Anchorage and most recently was Assistant Curator and Archivist for the Moving Image Department at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
