Duffy's Journey to Justice: A Community Gathering for Awareness & Action on Violence Against Women
On Saturday, May 2, community members are invited to a discussion around the 2019 murder of Anesha "Duffy" Murnane and the broader issue of violence against women. Presenters include Matt Haney, the Special Investigator who solved Duffy's case sharing about the case and answering questions. Also presenting is Ingrid Johnson, Associate Professor, Depart of Justice and & Women's Gender & Sexuality Studies, UAF, sharing "Duffy Murnane as an Individual and Statistic: The Context of Violence Against Women in Alaska. Duffy's family, include her Uncle Mike Huelsman will discuss her killer's plea deal and her stepfather Ed Berg will provide a retrospective from her disappearance in 2019 to today, as well as recognition of individuals who volunteered countless hours through the years.
