Catherine Meire, Artist in Residence at Bunnell Street Arts Center

Catherine Meire, Artist in Residence at Bunnell Street Arts Center

Bunnell Street Arts Center welcomes Catherine Meier, a McKnight Artist Fellow, through an Artist Residency program in partnership with the McKnight Foundation & the Artist Communities Alliance from September 23 – October 4. Artist talk & screening in-person at Bunnell Street Arts Center October 1, 5:30PM. A virtual artist talk will be posted online on October 1 on Bunnell’s YouTube channel.

Catherine Meier creates drawings, animations, and large-scale installations of earth, sky, and horizon – of vast, open land and space. Her projects are large in scope and develop over several years of deep listening in specific locations — this experience forms the core of her artistic process. In recent years, Meier’s work has focused on the Sage Creek area of Badlands National Park in South Dakota, located on Lakota Homelands. Her project “Standing Witness, site: Sage Creek” was recognized through Creative Capitals’ “On our Radar”. She has held place-oriented residencies at Badlands National Park and Cedar Point Biological Station.

This program is made possible with support by The McKnight Foundation and the Artist Communities Alliance.
