"Buoys Adrift..." Art Opening Second Friday
Celebrate the "Buoys Adrift…" art exhibit with refreshments, activities, and deep dives into community resiliency.
See displays of artistically transformed buoys with "Buoys Adrift…: A Flotsam and Jetsam Art Display." Artists have taken buoys collected from Alaskan beaches and transformed them into works of art serving as a powerful reminders of our impact on marine habitats and our power to protect them.
Join us for Second Friday festivities to open the art show and celebrate the NSF NCAR “Resilient Earth, Resilient Communities” exhibit currently showing at the Wynn Visitor Center. Hands-on activities will include a float painting station, tree ring activities, marine debris lawn games, and the chance to contribute to a community buoy full of stories about Homer and Alaska’s environmental resilience.
Free event. Refreshments served. All ages welcome!
