Botany for Beginners: Introduction to Botanical Terms & Local Plant Families

Botany for Beginners: Introduction to Botanical Terms & Local Plant Families

Learn how to confidently identify ten local plant families, opening up the ability to assess any plant you see within this framework!

Participants will be introduced to some of the most common and interesting local plant families, as well as some basic botanical terms. The goal of this lab is to give participants the keys to a deeper understanding of the plant world without getting overwhelmed by the details. We will take a short walk outside to look at some winter identification tricks, and pull specimens from the Pratt Museum herbarium to hone our new skills!

Come prepared to spend 15-20 minutes outside and bring any plant ID questions you may have. Online Registration required at https://www.prattmuseum.org/event/botany-for-beginners-introduction-to-botanical-terms-local-plant-families/
