Birding Alaska's National Wildlife Refuges with Aaron Lang

Birding Alaska's National Wildlife Refuges with Aaron Lang

Homer based bird guide extraordinaire Aaron Lang has birded about half of the 16 national wildlife refuges in Alaska in is 25 years of guiding in the state. Join us, Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges, as Aaron shares stories from his favorite birding adventures, highlights rare species, and recounts memorable experiences in some of Alaska’s most iconic birding destinations. These include the Pribilof Islands, Adak, and Nome in the Alaska Maritime Refuge; Kodiak, known for its abundance of winter birds; Tetlin Refuge along a major migratory flyway; the accessible forests, lakes, and mountains of Kenai Refuge; the extreme northern landscapes of the Arctic Refuge; and the Yukon Delta Refuge—the largest waterfowl and waterbird refuge in the nation. The talk will last until 6 with a reception following. All are welcome and it is free. You can also zoom this program and it will be recorded.
