Kenai Peninsula residents traveled from as far away as Soldotna in hopes of recalling Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy. Organizers from Homer set up tables in WKFL Park on Thursday, August 1. Between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. they collected over 400 signatures. KBBI's Kathleen Gustafson attended the rally to ask the people in attendance why they want to recall Alaska's Governor.

If the organizers of Recall Dunleavy get 28, 501 Alaskans to sign, they can submit their petition to the Alaska Division of Elections for review. If certified, the petition would then need signatures from a quarter of the voters in last year's election, more than 71,000. If those signatures were approved, a recall election would be scheduled with 90 days.
Correction: A previous version of this story listed a location for the Recall Dunleavy office in Homer. That location has been changed to 3808 Ben Walters Lane.
