The State Revenue Commissioner, Randall Hoffbeck, is coming to the Southern Peninsula to discuss potential solutions to a drastic fall in state revenues caused by low oil prices.
Commissioner Hoffbeck will meet with the public Thursday for a town hall meeting at the Ninilchik Senior Center from 6-8 pm.
On Friday Hoffbeck will join Homer City Manager Katie Koester for a luncheon sponsored by the Homer Chamber of Commerce from 12-1 pm at the Homer Elks Lodge. And lastly, Friday from 7-9 pm Hoffbeck will visit another town hall meeting at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center in Homer.
Representative Paul Seaton of Homer is hosting the Ninilchik and Homer town hall meetings. Seaton’s office also released a survey for Southern Peninsula residents to voice their opinions on the state’s best options to solve its money problems. The survey is available online. Representative Seaton asks that residents complete the survey before attending the town hall meetings.
