Homer filmmaker Bjorn Oslon’s film, ‘Heart of Alaska’, is set to premier this week at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center in Homer. The film follows a Seldovia couple as they travel around Cook Inlet walking and pack-rafting with their two toddlers. They asked the people they meet one question: “Where do you see Alaska in 50 years?”. Bretwood ‘Hig’ Higman and Erin McKittrick talk about their journey captured in Olson’s new film.
‘Heart of Alaska’ was crowd-funded and made through the Seldovia non-profit, Ground Truth Trekking. The premier is Tuesday and Wednesday evening (11/17 & 11/18) at 6:30 at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitors Center. Olson says ‘Heart of Alaska’ has been accepted into the Anchorage International Film Festival and he plans to take it on tour around the state.
