16 cranes  gathered on a meadow at Inspiration Ridge off East Skyline Drive when Nina Faust of Kachemak Crane Watch welcomed KBBI's Kathleen Gustafson to the 650 acres dedicated to the preservation of sandhill cranes and their habitat.
Faust is calling all birders and citizen scientists to participate in the annual Crane Count, beginning Saturday, August 26th.
