Lots of options for Easter services this year

Last year, the first major holiday affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic was Easter. Many church leaders, such as Father Jaime Mencias, encouraged their parishioners to go online.
“We last Easter, we did not have a public celebration,” said Father Jaime, the parish administrator for both Homer’s Saint John the Baptist and Ninilchik’s Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic churches.
This year, he says there are several ways for the faithful to attend, including online, in person or, watching from another room in the church.
Father Jaime is excited about Holy Week and hopes people find a way to celebrate.
“I would like to encourage people, whether they come to Homer’s Saint John the Baptist or another church, to make this the best Easter yet, and to live a new life God has given to us.”
You can find Father Jaime’s services on Facebook under St John the Baptist Homer.
