KBC announces interim director

A former professor of the Kenai Peninsula College will serve as the interim director for its Kachemak Bay Campus. Paula Martin served as an associate professor and as the assistant director for the college’s academic affairs. She oversaw all of the college’s academic affairs and made monthly visits to KBC from 2008-2015. Following her time at the college, Martin served as the University of Alaska Southeast Sitka Campus director, among other positions.

Martin will begin in December when the current director Carol Swartz is set to retire. In June, Reid Brewer will take over as the next director.

Renee joined KBBI in 2017 as a general assignment reporter and host. Her work has appeared on such shows as Weekend Edition Saturday, The World, Marketplace and Studio 360. Renee previously interned as a reporter for KPCC in Los Angeles and as a producer for Stateside at Michigan Radio. Her work has earned her numerous press club awards. She holds an M.S. in journalism from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in women's studies from the University of Michigan.
