Flood Watch on Anchor River through Sunday morn

The Flood Watch issued for Anchor River due to snowmelt and the potential for ice jam flooding has been extended through Sunday morning, April 19.

Recent warm temperatures combined with rain have triggered a rise in the Anchor River over the past few days downstream from the Sterling Highway. River gage readings this afternoon indicate a possible ice jam in place along the lower reach near the Old Sterling highway bridge. Residents should be prepared for minor flooding along Anchor Point Road downstream from the Old Sterling Highway. Anyone with additional information is requested to please call the Spotter line at 877-696-7748 or email nws.ar.aprfc@noaa.gov.
