The Seward Polar Bear Jump event celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this month, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to support cancer-related causes, and even though sockeye salmon have been abundant on Cook Inlet’s east side in recent years, the state has severely limited the setnet fishery there.
