Homer’s Crane Count starts back up this weekend. The Kachemak Crane Watch project has been holding the annual event for about five years to get up-to-date local data on the once-threatened species; and a family with deep roots in Soldotna has been named the 2022 Alaska Farm Family of the Year.

The production of the local evening newscast is made possible by the generous support of Duncan House Diner and Bay Realty.

In 2019, Hope moved to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor to work for Alaska's Energy Desk and KUCB — the westernmost public radio newsroom in the country. She has lived, worked and filed stories from California, New York, Bolivia, Peru, Cuba and Alaska.
