Ways to Connect

KBBI Bushlines help connect us to loved ones near and far. This Christmas season, KBBI is here to connect you to the North Pole! We invite our young KBBI listeners to send their letter to Santa through the AM airwaves this year.

Here is how:

Rising

Oct 23, 2020

In honor of International Day of Climate Action KBBI and Pier One Theatre proudly present Rising, an original radio play written by Brenda Dolma and produced with local talent.

KBBI's annual Fall Membership Drive is coming up on October 16th and 17th.  The station is hoping to use this time to highlight our volunteers, our community, and all the ways radio keeps us connected.

KBBI and Bluejaye Productions proudly present Knife Skills, an original piece written by Lindsey Schneider and produced with local talent now available for on demand listening. Knife Skills is the story of four kitchen workers at the edge of the world. A charming executive chef, an ambitious sous chef, a hardened line cook, and an innocent dishwasher form a strong friendship working long hours at a rural deluxe wilderness lodge in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.

Pier One Theatre and KBBI AM 890 are proud to present the first episode of The Importance of Being Earnest: A Trivial Comedy for Serious People by Oscar Wilde.

The Importance of Being Earnest is a story of friendship, lies, romance, interfering mothers, mystery and more. Join Jack and Algernon, two young men of good fortune, as they navigate truth, love and society!  Listen to all three installments, available now at www.kbbi.org!

The KBBI Board of Directors is proud to announce the dedication and renaming of the principal on-air studio as the 'Gary Thomas Studio'. Gary served this community at Kachemak Emergency Services, as a member of the Homer Volunteer Fire Department, as editor and publisher of the Homer News and as volunteer host and auctioneer for decades worth of fundraising and advocacy events across the peninsula.

KBBI AM 890 is hosting an on-air remote ‘Concert on YOUR Lawn’ Fundraiser June 19th & 20th. This is a socially distant homage to our Concert On The Lawn days and an opportunity for us to celebrate our amazing listener-supporters. Throughout the two days you will hear the regular shows you love as well as live music, KBBI testimonies, and giveaways all culminating in the Concert on Your Lawn Event June 20th from 5 pm-9 pm with local musicians broadcasting from their homes to yours. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram for more updates.

In August the station celebrated 40 years on the air bringing you local and national news, emergency coverage, and the music and stories we all love. On October 11th and 12th we will host our Fall on-air membership drive.
