Proposed zip line in Seldovia is on hold

A proposed zip line in Seldovia is on hold. The owner of Seldovia Bay Adventures LLC and former state senator Scott Ogan put forth a plan earlier this summer for a Star Wars themed zip-line. Earlier this month the Seldovia City Council denied his request  to lease land in a local RV park. Multiple residents spoke out against the proposal.

Ogan says he is disappointed with the council’s decision.

"I was prepared to start building and designing a zip line at that location and having it open in the spring of 2019," he said. "Now, if and when, the zip line opens in Seldovia is in serious question. And frankly I've bled a lot of money long time, and I'm looking at other options."

Ogan already has roughly 40 acres of land leased above the airport to make a zip line. But the project there is also on hold because of issues with the Department of Transportation. Instead of pursuing a zip line, Ogan says he may expand his vacation rental and tour business instead.
