Homer City Manager Katie Koester signed a contract to serve four more years in her position. The Homer City Council unanimously approved Koester's second contract after a performance review earlier this month. She’s served as city manager since 2015 and her current contract expires at the end of this year.
A press release from the city says the contract renewal will provide continuity for Homer’s government as it finalizes the 2019 budget and moves forward with projects such as the construction of a new police station.
Homer Mayor Ken Castner says the contract provides just compensation to a high performing city manager.
The city council reviews Koester’s performance annually.
