Lori Christianson On-air training took place last October at KBBI. Three hard-working, smooth-talking, music savvy volunteers completed training and demo tapes and survived their first show on the air at the time of this writing. KBBI is lucky to have this exciting new energy at the station. Please welcome the following three volunteers to our radio family:
Sage Anderson grew up around local
radio, as her father has worked at
KBBI in various degrees. She says in her volunteer application “she was
inspired
by her dad.” She was the first of the 2005 on-air class to do a show.
We are
lucky to have her friendly personality and good-natured energy around
our
office. Her first show was a hit, and many locals enjoyed her
“yee-hah!” shout
at the end. She has a great radio personality and we are lucky to have
her. We
can’t wait for her to pass her talents on to future generations of the
Anderson
family!

Michael Giffelli is your DJ-YAHUWEH. “Smooth” doesn’t even begin to describe the mellow deep voice he uses to announce his music. A creative force as well, he spends much of his free time creating music and jingles on a Rowland D10 multi-temporal synthesizer and digital recorder. He enjoys listening to bands such as U2 and The Production Company.
Ginger Bryant had prior radio
experience years ago and you can
tell! Her road to radio fame started at a country music station in mid
Texas.
She was earning money to travel in Russia. She is a natural behind the
mike.
Her first show was flawless – and late night – so she really rocked the
house.
She feels the most memorable song played on her first show was “An
American,
too” by Treehouse and lately she’s been listening to the Jayhawks. Her
favorite
shows on KBBI include: Paradigm Shift, Beggar’s Banquet, Fresh Air,
Counterspin, and This American Life. She describes her life outside of
the
radio world as that of a “peace-nick”.
We also welcome Michael Laffan to the studio. He's a
resident of Homer, coming here four years ago by way of Massachusetts,
Colorado and Oregon. Michael's an avid music aficionado.
